Ella is a single mom trying to get all the elements of life together. With two small children, a vibrant teenage daughter, two different fathers and a private catering company, it is not easy. When her best friend Nilo wants her to post a profile on a dating site, Ella is reluctant at first. How could she even meet anyone, let alone find justice in a jungle of "nice" guys and "hug" men? Ella struggles with self-confidence after her ex David meets new woman Anna. She is not only rude nice, talented and kind. In addition, she has quickly become a favorite of Ellas and David's children. Teenage daughter Siri thinks her mother's dating is desperate. The first date was a failure. Still, Ella makes another attempt, with a passionate man challenging her prejudices. In the middle of it all, Ella is forced to find a new chef. The late Arvin gets the chance. Ella goes on a date with seemingly perfect Johannes, who turns out to have a deep secret. Arvin is making progress as the new chef and he and Ella are getting closer.

Ella and Arvin get closer. Ella finds out that her ex-husband is taking his new relationship to another level.

An old friend from high school contacts Ella, and they start dating. Siri is acting out and Ella has a hard time communicating with her. Ella's ex-sister-in-law Monica is trying to find meaning in life.
